On Monday, the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Kuwait, Chong-Suk Park, met with local media to discuss the enduring partnership between Kuwait and Korea, marking a significant milestone in 2025 – the 50th anniversary of their construction cooperation. Reflecting on the past five decades, Ambassador Park highlighted how Korean companies have played a pivotal role in Kuwait’s infrastructure development, contributing to major projects like Ring Roads 1 and 6, Highway 30, and the Jaber Causeway.
The Ambassador emphasized that this cooperation extends far beyond construction, with Korean involvement in key sectors that align with Kuwait’s Vision 2035. He pointed out that Korean firms are active in areas such as the operation of Kuwait International Airport (T4), smart city development, smart farming, fiber optic manufacturing, and healthcare.
Looking ahead, Ambassador Park shared that the partnership between the two countries is set to grow even stronger. He announced plans for a series of events to celebrate the 50th anniversary, designed to promote bilateral relations and foster high-level exchanges. These will include initiatives like the Smart City Forum, as well as cultural and sports activities.
Notable events planned include the Ambassador’s Taekwondo Tournament, a Korean Food Festival, a Film Festival, and a Quiz Competition, all aimed at promoting deeper cultural understanding. Additionally, there will be opportunities to explore study and tourism prospects in Korea.
