The Sulaimani Forum 2025 gathered key national and international figures to discuss Iraq’s future and regional progress. Hosted at the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS), the two-day forum ran from April 16 to 17. It attracted top leaders, including Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani and Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani.

President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, delivered one of the forum’s most impactful speeches. He urged all parties to focus on cooperation, coexistence, and rebuilding national trust. His speech highlighted the vital role of dialogue in securing Iraq’s future.
Prime Minister Sudani stressed the importance of restoring public services and improving the economy. He called for stronger state institutions and encouraged open political dialogue. Meanwhile, Masrour Barzani emphasized regional stability and sustainable development. He also pointed to the importance of education and innovation.

Former Iraqi President Barham Salih, founder of AUIS and the Sulaimani Forum, welcomed all participants. He reminded attendees that such gatherings were critical for long-term peace and democratic growth. Throughout the event, guests debated issues like water scarcity, climate change, economic reform, and shifting regional alliances.
Scholars, government ministers, and international experts joined forces on panel discussions. They proposed new ideas to solve old problems. They encouraged policy reform, social development, and inclusive governance.

Attendees repeatedly echoed one message: the time to secure Iraq’s future is now. Leaders from across Iraq stood united in this goal. They promised to move forward with shared strategies and mutual respect.
As the forum ended, optimism filled the halls. Participants expressed hope, but also urgency. Iraq’s future depends on continued collaboration, bold decisions, and honest conversations.
