Iraq Security Investigation Into Alleged Foreign Military Base Claims

Iraq’s parliament has launched a formal review into reports of alleged foreign military activity in western parts of the country, with senior security officials expected to be questioned over claims involving border and airspace violations.

The parliamentary security and defense committee said it will summon relevant security leaders to clarify reports concerning unusual activity in areas between Karbala and Anbar provinces. The move reflects growing political concern over national sovereignty and border control enforcement.

The issue gained attention after international media reports cited unnamed sources alleging the presence of a temporary foreign military site in western Iraq during recent regional tensions. Parliamentary committees are expected to meet defense commanders to assess technical and operational requirements.
