Iranian Kurdish Opposition Parties Condemn Deadly Missile Strike on Peshmerga in Erbil

Erbil missile strike condemnation intensified on Tuesday as Iranian Kurdish opposition parties strongly rejected the latest missile attack on Peshmerga forces in the Kurdistan Region. The groups called for urgent international action and described the strike as a violation of sovereignty.

In Iraq, political tensions increased after ballistic missiles hit a Peshmerga military headquarters in Erbil province’s Soran area. The attack killed six fighters and injured around 30 others. Authorities confirmed the scale of damage shortly after the incident.

Moreover, a newly formed coalition of Iranian Kurdish political parties issued a strong statement. The group described the strike as an attack on political and territorial sovereignty. They said the assault targeted both military positions and civilian-linked areas in the Kurdistan Region.

The coalition expressed sympathy with the families of the victims. They stressed that repeated missile and drone attacks have intensified since the wider regional conflict began. As a result, they labeled the ongoing attacks as violations of international law.

Furthermore, the coalition said Iranian forces and affiliated units have carried out multiple strikes. They claimed these attacks targeted Kurdish opposition bases inside Iran and across the border. Erbil missile strike condemnation therefore became a unifying message among Kurdish political factions.

The Kurdistan Region reported continued aerial tensions in the area. Security forces monitored increased drone and missile activity following the attack. In addition, air defense systems intercepted several threats in recent weeks.

At the same time, officials confirmed that this strike marked a direct attack attributed to Iran itself. Previous incidents often involved armed groups aligned with Iranian interests. However, this attack escalated concerns about direct state involvement.

Moreover, the Peshmerga Ministry reaffirmed its right to defend the region. Officials stated they will respond to any aggression targeting their forces or territory. They also called for international support to prevent further escalation.

In addition, the Kurdistan Regional Government maintained its neutral position. Leaders continued to promote dialogue and stability in the region. They also emphasized that the territory should not become a battlefield for external conflicts.

Erbil missile strike condemnation continues to grow across political groups and international observers. The situation remains highly sensitive as tensions rise and regional dynamics shift rapidly.
