Iran and Saudi Arabia have exchanged views on the ongoing indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States. The topic discussed was Iran’s nuclear program, Trend reported.
The dialogue took place via telephone between Iran’s Chief Diplomat, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, and Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.
Araghchi briefed his Saudi counterpart on the latest developments in the indirect nuclear discussions between Iran and the US.
During the call, the two officials also discussed bilateral relations, regional dynamics, and broader global developments.
Additionally, Prince Faisal expressed his sympathies to Iran following a recent explosion at one of its maritime facilities.
Three rounds of indirect negotiations between Iran and the US were held on April 12, 19, and 26. Mediated by Oman’s Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Al-Busaidi, the first and third rounds took place in Muscat, Oman. Meanwhile, the second round was held in Rome, Italy.
The Iranian delegation was led by Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, while the US delegation was headed by US Special Envoy to Middle East Affairs, Steve Witkoff.
