The Ministry of Health is fully committed to ensuring the health and safety of both citizens and residents during the national holidays. This commitment is emphasized by the Ministry’s official spokesman, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad. The Ministry has implemented a comprehensive plan to guarantee seamless healthcare services throughout the holiday period.
Under the direct supervision of the Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, the Ministry has made significant preparations to handle any medical emergencies. Dr. Al-Sanad highlighted that dedicated health teams will be operating around the clock. They will adhere to the highest healthcare standards.
To ensure a swift response to any emergencies, the Ministry has established 20 temporary medical emergency points at celebration sites across the country. These points are equipped with approximately 50 ambulances. The fleet includes golf cart ambulances and four-wheel-drive bikes. These vehicles are designed for quick access in crowded or hard-to-reach areas. Around 250 emergency medical technicians will be deployed to provide immediate care. They will facilitate rapid hospital transfers when necessary.
In terms of health facilities, Dr. Al-Sanad confirmed that approximately 40 percent of primary health care centers will remain operational throughout the holiday period. Some centers will offer services 24/7. Meanwhile, others will extend their hours until midnight. This ensures continuous care for all visitors. Additionally, seven preventive health departments will operate during the morning hours across all governorates. They will maintain essential preventive health programs.
Specialized services will also remain available. This includes dental emergency clinics under school health programs and dedicated adult dental clinics at specialized centers, public hospitals, and primary health care centers. The Central Blood Bank in Jabriya and the Blood Transfusion Cooperative Center in the Ahmadi Health District will continue to accept donations until 7 pm. This ensures a steady supply of blood units.
Emergency departments in hospitals will remain on high alert. They will operate 24/7 with staff working in shifts to ensure timely and efficient medical services. Dr. Al-Sanad also noted that information about the operating hours of health centers and facilities during the holiday period is readily available on the Ministry of Health’s official social media accounts.
The Ministry is urging the public to stay updated by following these platforms for the latest information. They also advise exercising caution during the holidays, particularly when driving in crowded areas and near pedestrian crossings. Dr. Al-Sanad also advised against throwing water balloons. Engaging in activities that could pose a risk to others or compromise public health should also be avoided.
With these proactive measures in place, the Ministry of Health aims to provide a safe and secure environment for everyone during the festive period.
