GCC Officials Meet in Kuwait to Forge New Crisis Response Strategy

GCC officials are now strengthening regional preparedness. They gathered in Kuwait for a critical two-day meeting. This technical team session plans a major joint crisis exercise. Furthermore, the group is discussing a vital 2025-2026 strategy. This plan will directly address nuclear and chemical risks. Consequently, this effort aims to unify Gulf Cooperation Council response mechanisms.

Therefore, Brigadier General Dr. Rashid Al-Marri leads the GCC Emergency Management Center. He stated this meeting reinforces joint Gulf action. The team’s goal is developing a better crisis response system. Therefore, they are actively finding solutions for regional dangers. This work is essential for future security.

The agenda focuses heavily on the Isnad 2 exercise. Officials call this drill an important practical step. It will significantly enhance readiness across member states. Moreover, it will raise coordination levels between relevant authorities. The team will define clear objectives for the exercise. They will also select specific risk types to simulate. Finally, they will review the proposed organizational structure.

This new plan builds on previous success. The group will examine the final report from Isnad 1. That exercise occurred in January 2025. It trained personnel for many disaster scenarios. These included epidemics and maritime accidents. They also practiced handling oil spills and cyber threats. Radiological hazards were also a key focus. Noor Al-Shibli directed the planning for that event. She confirmed the exercise completed fifty key tasks.

Additionally, the meeting covers a new action plan. This roadmap will guide joint action for two years. It strengthens capabilities against biological and natural risks. Al-Marri said this reflects a deep GCC commitment. The countries believe in collective action against challenges. This is key for protecting all Gulf societies.

He also expressed gratitude to Kuwait. The country is hosting this important meeting. Its role in supporting joint action is paramount. Ultimately, strengthening regional preparedness is a continuous mission. This meeting ensures the GCC remains vigilant and united.
