The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued red and yellow fog alerts in several areas across the UAE. Authorities are urging motorists to drive carefully as dense fog affects visibility. The foggy conditions are expected to last until 8:30 a.m. today.
Visibility Concerns and Weather Conditions
The NCM warns that horizontal visibility may deteriorate further in some western regions. Fog has been reported along Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed International Road, from Baynounah Bridge to Al Ruwais Bridge in Al Dhafrah. Additional patches of fog have also formed over Tarfa in Al Dhafrah.
Meteorologists predict partly cloudy skies today, which could turn cloudy overnight. A chance of light rainfall is expected in northern areas on Monday, February 24. The NCM forecasts that temperatures will increase in the morning before gradually cooling down later in the week.
Temperature and Wind Updates
The highest temperatures today will range between 30 and 35 degrees Celsius. Coastal and island areas will experience lows between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius. Light to moderate winds will blow at speeds reaching up to 35 km/h.
Chance of Rainfall This Week
According to NCM forecasts, light rainfall may occur from Monday, February 24, to Thursday, February 27. Temperatures will start to decline at the beginning of the week. As a result, residents should prepare for cooler weather conditions.
Motorists Urged to Drive Safely
Authorities are advising drivers to exercise caution due to the reduced visibility caused by the fog. Road safety measures should be followed to prevent accidents. The NCM will continue to monitor weather conditions and provide updates as needed.
With fog affecting major routes, officials emphasize the importance of staying alert. By staying informed and following safety guidelines, residents can navigate the foggy conditions more safely.
