Five Pakistani Umrah Pilgrims Killed in Saudi Bus Crash on Route to Madina

At least five Pakistani Umrah pilgrims, including three women, lost their lives in a tragic bus accident while traveling from the historic site of Badr to Madina in Saudi Arabia.

Initial reports indicate that the deceased, along with most of the other passengers on board, hailed from the Bahawalnagar district in Pakistan’s Punjab province. Among the victims were Rukhsana Bibi and Amina Bibi from Fort Abbas (village 228/9-R), two women from Dahran Wala, and an elderly man, Manzoor Hussain, from village 39/3-R.

Several other pilgrims sustained injuries and were rushed to hospitals in Madina for treatment. According to hospital sources, four of the injured — including two women — are being treated at the Saudi-German Hospital. Three others, two of whom are women, are receiving care at King Fahd Hospital, while another woman is under treatment at King Salman Hospital. Authorities confirmed that two bodies have been transferred to both the Saudi-German and King Fahd hospitals.

“My sister and two cousins died in a bus accident while on their way to Madina from Badr,” said Muhammad Khalid, a relative of the victims.

Pakistan’s Consul General in Jeddah, Khalid Majeed, confirmed that the consulate is actively assisting the injured and is coordinating with the Umrah sponsoring company. He also stated that No Objection Certificates (NOCs) have been issued for the burial of three of the deceased in Saudi Arabia.

Family members of the victims have confirmed that the deceased will be laid to rest in the Kingdom.
