Erbil Hosts Global Conference on Climate Change

Erbil hosts global conference on climate change, drawing participants from across the world. Salahaddin University organized the two-day event, The conference focuses on the urgent environmental issues affecting Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and beyond.

Thirteen countries sent representatives to Erbil. These include Tunisia, the UK, UAE, Greece, Bangladesh, Jordan, Turkey, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the Netherlands, Iran, and Syria. Their presence underlines the global concern surrounding climate change.

A total of 29 universities are taking part. Over 160 researchers, professors, and climate experts have joined the discussions. They are presenting 54 scientific papers that explore climate issues in depth. Every paper offers a unique perspective on the crisis.

Salahaddin University’s media officer, Saman Abdullah, explained the importance of the event. He stated that Erbil hosts global conference on climate change to create solutions through research and dialogue. The conference provides a platform for academic cooperation and knowledge exchange.

Throughout the sessions, experts address both global and regional challenges. Some focus on rising temperatures, while others examine drought, floods, and resource shortages. Every speaker brings valuable insights to the table.
