Duhok secured the 2025 Iraq Cup title after a penalty shootout win against Zakho in the tournament’s final match. The game took place at Al-Shaab Stadium in Baghdad, drawing thousands of spectators.

This marked the first Iraq Cup final between two Kurdish clubs, with both teams based in the Badinan region of northern Iraq. The final attracted attention for its regional significance and the performance of both teams throughout the tournament.

After 120 minutes of regulation and extra time, the score remained level. The match was decided by penalties, where Duhok prevailed 5–3.
