Doha Hosts First Asian Nuts and Dried Fruits Exhibition at Souq Waqif

Doha, Qatar – The inaugural Asian Nuts and Dried Fruits Exhibition has opened at Souq Waqif. It features 40 companies from seven countries known for their premium-quality products. The exhibition, organized by the Celebrations Committee of the Private Engineering Office, will run until March 10, 2025. It operates daily from 7:30 PM to midnight.

Participating countries include Türkiye, Iran, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Pakistan. All are renowned for producing some of the finest nuts and dried fruits enjoyed by consumers worldwide.

The exhibition is perfectly timed for Ramadan, when demand for nuts surges as they are key ingredients in traditional dishes. It also aligns with Garangao Night, a cherished Qatari celebration where children receive gift bags filled with nuts and sweets.

Khalid Saif Al Suwaidi, General Supervisor of the Exhibition, highlighted the significance of the event, saying, “We are pleased to launch this first-of-its-kind exhibition. It brings together top producers of nuts and dried fruits from across Asia.”

He emphasized the importance of timing, stating, “Ramadan sees a growing demand for these products. With their connection to traditions like Garangao, this exhibition offers a unique shopping experience in Souq Waqif’s festive atmosphere.”

Al Suwaidi encouraged visitors to explore the exhibition, adding, “This is an exceptional opportunity to discover a diverse selection of high-quality nuts and dried fruits. These come from some of the world’s best producers. We look forward to welcoming everyone to experience the heritage-rich shopping environment of Souq Waqif during this special season.”
