Doha Gears Up for Web Summit 2025: Celebrating Women in Tech and Innovation

The Web Summit Permanent Organizing Committee met in Doha to finalize preparations for Web Summit Qatar 2025, scheduled from February 1 to 4. The meeting, led by the Director of the Government Communications Office, focused on ensuring that the event highlights Qatar’s growing influence in global technology and innovation.

This year’s summit will gather international leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs from various industries. Moreover, organizers confirmed that Web Summit Qatar 2025 will expand its programs to inspire collaboration and digital creativity. The event continues to reflect Qatar’s vision of progress and inclusion.

One of the key topics discussed was the “Women in Technology: Pioneers” program, now celebrating its tenth anniversary. This initiative has become a major part of the summit. It showcases global efforts to empower women in technology, entrepreneurship, and digital leadership.

The committee announced that tickets for the program have already sold out. This overwhelming demand highlights the growing interest in female-driven innovation. Additionally, this ticket includes access to exclusive panels, workshops, and mentorship sessions led by women experts. Therefore, it remains one of the most popular categories at the event.

During the meeting, the Director of the Government Communications Office emphasized that the program represents a global commitment to equality and opportunity. He added that Doha continues to champion women’s empowerment and innovation. Furthermore, Web Summit Qatar 2025 serves as a platform that connects knowledge, talent, and opportunity under one roof.

To celebrate the program’s tenth year, organizers announced a special evening in Doha. It will honor exceptional women in technology, investment, media, and research. In addition, similar events will take place in cities such as London, Vancouver, Rio de Janeiro, Lisbon, and Dublin, marking a global tribute to women leaders.

Several distinguished women will participate in this year’s summit, including Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani, Rania A. Al-Mashat from Egypt, and Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni from Morocco. Their involvement reinforces the summit’s goal of promoting female leadership and cross-border collaboration.

Over time, the “Women in Technology: Pioneers” program has achieved measurable success. In the last edition, women represented more than 40 percent of participants. Nearly 47 percent of startups were founded by women, a record that proves steady progress.

Ultimately, Web Summit Qatar 2025 highlights Doha’s role as a global hub for innovation. With growing partnerships and new opportunities, the city continues to shape the future of the digital world.
