Doha Academy Al Waab recently organised a lively and inspiring student-led event. The event celebrated Qatar’s national identity, cultural heritage, and its ongoing journey toward innovation and sustainability.
Led by Marie Tabet, Head of French, the event featured Secondary Girls students from Years 7 to 9. These students presented creative visual and digital projects aligned with Qatar’s development goals and Vision 2030.
The event welcomed distinguished guests, including Sheikha Anwar bint Nawaf Al Thani, CEO of Al Faleh Educational Holding. In addition, representatives from the French Institute in Qatar, Imen Djemel and Morgane Hofstetter, attended. School leaders also expressed pride in the students’ achievements.
Students delivered confident bilingual presentations in French and English. They covered topics such as innovation, food and agriculture, education, economic development, culture, and sustainability. Their work sparked insightful discussions and reflected both linguistic skills and cultural awareness.
Marie Tabet praised the students’ creativity and connection to Qatar’s identity. Moreover, Sheikha Anwar highlighted the importance of integrating national identity into education. James Benjamin McAleese, Head of Secondary, commended the event as a reflection of the school’s core values: confidence, cultural awareness, and excellence.
