CBSE exam postponements are causing rising stress for more than 2,200 students in Oman. CBSE exam postponements reflects the uncertainty and anxiety many students currently face. With repeated delays, students struggle to maintain focus and motivation.
According to the CBSE circular released on March 9, 2026, the board postponed exams initially scheduled from March 12 to March 16 in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. The board will review the situation again on March 14 to announce new dates for exams beyond March 16.
Students in Oman, who missed the Mathematics exam on Monday, expressed their frustration. One student said, “I have lost all interest in studying theory or practicing papers. I prepared for months, and the repeated delays drain my energy.” Another from Indian School Muscat added, “I was already exhausted before the previous exam date. Now, with the English exam postponed too, I cannot focus at all.”
Syed Salman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Indian Schools in Oman, explained that CBSE exam postponements protect students’ safety. “The current geopolitical situation creates an unpredictable environment,” he said. “The board decided to postpone exams to ensure students’ well-being across the region.”
Salman encouraged students to view the extra time as an opportunity rather than a setback. “Students should continue preparation and use this pause to strengthen weak areas,” he said. He also added, “Revisit topics you rushed through. This rare chance can turn difficult subjects into strengths and improve your performance.”
The Board of Directors emphasized its ongoing support for students. “We have full confidence in our students’ resilience,” Salman said. “With focused preparation, they will overcome this challenge and achieve success beyond expectations.”
As uncertainty continues, students should balance rest and study while using the additional time strategically. Schools and teachers are encouraged to provide guidance to keep students motivated, calm, as well as well-prepared.
