Doha – The Qatar Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, has approved a draft resolution. This resolution defines the administrative units of the General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority (GRSIA) and specifies their responsibilities.
The draft, developed in coordination with the Civil Services and Government Development Bureau, aims to modernize the social insurance system. This is under the Social Security Law and the Military Retirement Law.
The Cabinet also approved several draft decisions, including:
- Minister of Finance’s decision on remuneration regulations for tender and auction committees.
- Minister of Environment and Climate Change’s decision to issue a guide on radiation safety in industrial radiography.
- Minister of Justice’s decision to regulate the initial real estate registry under Law No. 6 of 2014.
Additionally, the Cabinet agreed to ratify MoUs on tourism cooperation with Sierra Leone. It also agreed on statistical collaboration with Saudi Arabia, public administration reform with Morocco, and anti-money laundering efforts with Libya.
The meeting also reviewed reports on cybersecurity strategy implementation. It also reviewed Qatar’s participation in the Global Labor Market Conference and the Arab Health Conference and Exhibition.
