The British International School Al Khobar (BISAK) has reached a new milestone in Saudi Arabia’s education sector.
In February 2025, BISAK became the first British school in the Kingdom to earn an “Outstanding” rating in all areas. The UK Department for Education’s British School Overseas (BSO) program conducted the rigorous inspection.
The report, now officially published, praised the school’s holistic approach and educational excellence. Inspectors highlighted BISAK’s strength in teaching, leadership, safety, and student development.
The school’s principal and CEO, Stephen Viner, celebrated the announcement with pride.
“This success reflects the commitment of our entire school community,” Viner said. “It confirms our position as a leader in providing Outstanding British education in Saudi Arabia.”
He also thanked the Eastern Province’s General Administration of Education for its guidance and ongoing support.
Miss T. Naidoo, Head of Prep, said her team worked hard to provide enriching experiences.
“Our prep staff focus on curriculum enhancement and pastoral care every day,” she said. “We aim for Outstanding British education in Saudi Arabia through every lesson and activity.”
Mr. L. Marsh, Head of Senior School, praised the positive behaviour and dedication of pupils.
“Our students impressed inspectors with their manners, focus, and consistent effort,” Marsh said. “We always aim high and deliver Outstanding British education in Saudi Arabia with pride.”
S. Barton, the school’s Bursar, said the recognition affirms their development plans.
“This outcome validates the strategy we built over recent years,” Barton said. “Now, we look ahead to more growth.”
Parents also expressed appreciation for the school’s impact on their children’s growth and achievement.
One parent said, “BISAK inspires our children to reach their full potential. This recognition feels truly deserved.”
The achievement confirms BISAK’s role as a standard-setter in international education across the Gulf.
