BENEFIT Champions Innovation by Empowering Young Bahraini Women at BuildHer CityHack 2025

BENEFIT, a top financial technology company in Bahrain, proudly sponsored the BuildHer CityHack 2025 hackathon. The Royal University for Women organized the two-day event through its College of Engineering and Technology. This initiative focused on empowering young Bahraini women in technology and innovation.

More than 100 high school students participated in the hackathon. They came from various schools across Bahrain. The event featured interactive workshops and hands-on training sessions. These sessions developed students’ problem-solving, teamwork, and creative thinking skills.

Additionally, participants used modern tools to design real-world solutions. Each project aligned with sustainability and technological progress. The goal was clear: build smarter solutions for a better future.

CEO Abdulwahed Al Janahi stressed BENEFIT’s long-term vision. He said the company believes in empowering young Bahraini women by supporting talent early. According to him, teaching 21st-century skills is vital for national development. He emphasized how early investment in youth supports Bahrain’s digital transformation goals.

Professor Riyad Hamzah praised the university’s role in nurturing female innovators. He highlighted the importance of academic-private sector collaboration. He also thanked BENEFIT for its role in this educational partnership.

Hanan Abdullah Hassan from BENEFIT emphasized the company’s commitment to community growth. She said this event helps students unleash creativity. It also contributes to building a smarter, more sustainable nation.

Moreover, Dr. Humam Agha noted the value of practical education. He said creative thinking helps students tackle real-world challenges. He linked this vision to the university’s goal of preparing future-ready graduates.
