Bahrain Strengthens Global Ties through Parliamentary Diplomacy

Parliamentary diplomacy in Bahrain continues to play a vital role in strengthening international relations. Dr. Mohammed Ali Hassan Ali, Chairman of the Public Utilities and Environment Committee of the Shura Council, affirmed this during a recent meeting. He highlighted that parliamentary diplomacy complements official diplomacy in enhancing Bahrain’s global position.

Dr. Mohammed Ali emphasized the Shura Council’s focus on developing parliamentary diplomacy in Bahrain. The aim is to build bridges of cooperation with national parliaments worldwide. He also noted that Bahrain’s achievements, particularly under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, are highlighted through such diplomatic efforts.

The meeting occurred at the Shura Council’s headquarters with a delegation from the fifth edition of the International Diplomats Program, “Diyafa.” The event took place in collaboration with the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies. Several officials from the Council’s General Secretariat were also in attendance.

During the meeting, Dr. Mohammed Ali conveyed the greetings of Mr. Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council. He reiterated the importance of advancing parliamentary diplomacy in Bahrain. He stressed that Bahrain’s active involvement in regional and international parliaments is essential to drive development and sustainable growth.

Furthermore, parliamentary diplomacy in Bahrain has gained global recognition. This is due to the increasing democratic practices of national parliaments and the role of international laws and treaties. The Shura Council plays a crucial role in building positive international cooperation and strengthening ties with both friendly and sisterly nations.

The delegation also had the opportunity to learn about the Shura Council’s work. This includes enacting laws, approving legislation, and cooperating with the Council of Representatives and the executive branch. Together, they prioritize Bahrain’s interests in every circumstance.

The International Diplomats Program plays a key role in deepening Bahrain’s relations globally. It helps participants understand Bahrain’s history, culture, and foreign policy. It also highlights the nation’s significant achievements, strengthening bilateral relations and ensuring lasting diplomatic ties.

Through parliamentary diplomacy in Bahrain, the country continues to foster international relationships, advancing its diplomatic efforts on the global stage.
