Bahrain, Pakistan Boost Military Cooperation Ties

Bahrain and Pakistan reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening military and security cooperation during a series of high-level meetings held in Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Wednesday.

Lieutenant General Sheikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, commander of Bahrain’s National Guard, met Admiral Naveed Ashraf, commander of the Pakistani Navy, at the naval command headquarters in Islamabad. The Bahraini delegation also held talks with Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik, director general of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), at the agency’s headquarters in Rawalpindi.

The meetings focused on expanding military coordination, exchanging expertise and enhancing cooperation between the two countries in areas linked to security and defence.

During the discussions, Sheikh Mohammed praised the progress achieved in Bahraini-Pakistani relations and highlighted the role of Pakistan’s armed forces in supporting regional and international stability. He also stressed the importance of continuing joint coordination and developing broader areas of military cooperation.

Pakistani officials welcomed the visit and described it as an important step toward reinforcing strategic and military relations between the two countries.

The talks also addressed a number of issues of mutual interest, with both sides expressing their commitment to strengthening long-standing ties and deepening cooperation in military and security fields.
