The Bahrain Open Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2025, organized under the supervision of national sports authorities, concluded with the participation of 109 male and female athletes. They represented 17 different nationalities and 14 training centers and academies.
The Reda Martial Arts Center team secured the top position in the overall ranking by earning 21 medals. These included 10 gold, 7 silver, and 4 bronze. The Elements team finished second with 19 medals. Their medals included 7 gold, 7 silver, and 5 bronze. UFC Bahrain claimed third place with 8 medals, including 2 gold, 4 silver, and 2 bronze. Victory Jiu-Jitsu took fourth place with 5 medals, and Emirates Police finished fifth with 2 gold medals.
In individual categories, Aseel Al-Mutawa of the Elements team won the under 62 kg (white belt) youth division. Mackay Channing from Reda Martial Arts Center took second place. In the under 69 kg (white belt) youth category, Omar Khunji from Reda Martial Arts Center claimed first place. This was followed by Ahmed Asiri of the Elements team in second and Mohammed Rafi’a of Reda Martial Arts Center in third.
For the over 69 kg (white belt) youth division, Ali Al-Wazir from Reda Martial Arts Center secured first place. Abdullah Al-Afou from Haas Jiu-Jitsu finished second, and Faisal Al-Madani from Reda Martial Arts Center placed third.
In the under 69 kg (colored belts) youth category, Samuel Ambrosio of Reda Martial Arts Center won first place. His teammates, Asr Hassan, took second and Zaki Babiker took third. In the over 69 kg (colored belts) youth category, Pedro Bessi of Reda Martial Arts Center took first place. Meanwhile, Daniel Paco from the Elements team secured second place.
In the women’s competition, Alexandrine Kassim from UFC Bahrain won the under 65 kg (white belt) category. Her teammate, Jyoti Singh, finished second. In the under 65 kg (blue and purple belt) category, Alaa Saleh from Gracie Bahrain secured first place. While Khadija Al-Qaidum from Reda Martial Arts Center placed second.
Among men’s competitions, notable winners included Hassan Ali from Victory Victorious in the under 62 kg (white belt) category, and Hassan Radhi from Victory Jiu-Jitsu in the under 69 kg (white belt) division.
Other champions included Jawad Ali (Victory Jiu-Jitsu) in the under 77 kg (white belt) division. Mohammed Janahi (UFC Bahrain) won the under 85 kg (white belt) category, and Mohammed Abbas (Reda Martial Arts Center) won the under 94 kg (white belt) competition. Saeed Al Balushi of Emirates Police won the men’s over 94 kg (white belt) division.
For the blue belt categories, winners included Abdullah Al-Sheikh (Elements) in the under 62 kg category and Abdulrahman Al-Mashawar (Elements) in the under 69 kg category. Hassan Osama (Reda Martial Arts Center) took first in the under 77 kg category.
Other blue belt champions included Mohammad Karimi (Reda Martial Arts Center) in the under 85 kg category. Pedro Bessi (Reda Martial Arts Center) won the under 94 kg division, and Mohammed Al Shami (Reda Martial Arts Center) took first in the over 94 kg category.
The championship showcased impressive performances and reinforced the growing popularity of Jiu-Jitsu in the region. Organizers expressed their commitment to continuing to support and develop the sport through future events and training initiatives.
