Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) has launched a program to reward customers who conserve electricity and water. This initiative supports the bank’s commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. It also promotes sustainable consumption, particularly around World Earth Day, a time for environmental awareness.
The bank recognized over 550 customers for reducing their electricity and water usage by at least 10% between 2023 and 2025. To qualify for rewards, customers must maintain an active remittance order with the bank. Each eligible customer will receive a reward worth 5% of their bill value. The reward will be deposited directly into their accounts.
Ameer Abdulghani Dairi, Chief Financial and Strategy Officer at BisB, expressed the bank’s dedication to sustainability. He stated, “We are pleased to reward our customers for encouraging sustainable consumption by reducing electricity and water usage. This initiative supports our goal of environmental preservation.”
This initiative highlights the bank’s commitment to fostering a culture of sustainability. The bank not only rewards customers but also encourages others to adopt similar behaviors. It firmly believes that encouraging sustainable consumption can lead to significant environmental benefits. Even small changes in consumption habits can have a lasting impact.
Additionally, BisB’s efforts align with Bahrain’s broader sustainability goals. These include reducing carbon emissions and conserving natural resources. The bank’s program encourages other businesses to embrace sustainability in their operations.
In conclusion, Bahrain Islamic Bank’s initiative sets an example of how businesses can promote encouraging sustainable consumption. By rewarding customers for environmentally conscious actions, BisB contributes to Bahrain’s sustainability goals. Through such efforts, the bank plays an important role in supporting the country’s sustainable development.
