The Try It Program has returned for its fourth edition, launched by the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This initiative aims to empower Bahraini students aged 15 to 18 with hands-on work experience. From August 3 to 21, 2025, students will immerse themselves in real workplace environments across various private sector institutions.
The program seeks to bridge the gap between education and employment. It equips youth with practical skills often missing from classroom instruction. Furthermore, the Try It Program provides essential career guidance to help students shape their futures with more confidence.
At the launch, an orientation meeting introduced students and parents to the program’s objectives. Organizers explained the training phases and outlined expectations. The meeting also addressed the application process and evaluation criteria used to select participants.
This year, 34 students were chosen from over 130 applicants. They earned their spots through interviews and skill assessments. Organizers believe these students are well-prepared to benefit from this unique opportunity.
During the first week, students will attend awareness workshops and lectures. These sessions aim to instill work ethics and introduce professional responsibilities. Over the following two weeks, students will work directly within companies to gain on-the-job experience.
Participants will explore fields such as investment, engineering innovation, entrepreneurship, and creative industries like photography and video production. This diverse mix ensures that students gain insight into different career paths that match modern labor market needs.
The Try It Program also supports Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030. It aligns with national goals to invest in human capital and build a competitive workforce. By participating, companies contribute to shaping future professionals and promoting a strong work culture.
Organizers highlighted the role of host institutions. These companies help students build confidence, learn discipline, and develop communication skills. They also offer students valuable exposure to real-world business environments.
