Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), for discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation.
During the meeting, both ministers explored avenues to strengthen their partnership across various sectors, including political, economic, trade, energy, and humanitarian domains. They particularly highlighted successful collaboration in the energy sector, notably renewable energy initiatives.
Both ministers emphasized the importance of maintaining active political dialogue and utilizing mechanisms of political consultation to further their partnership. They reaffirmed their commitment to mutual support and solidarity within regional and international organizations.
Minister Bayramov briefed Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed on Azerbaijan’s ongoing reconstruction efforts and peace initiatives in the post-conflict period. He highlighted current challenges, such as landmine threats and persistent territorial claims against Azerbaijan embedded in Armenia’s constitution and legislation.
Bayramov expressed appreciation for the UAE’s support in demining efforts and its significant contributions to various projects in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories.
Additionally, the ministers exchanged views on other regional and bilateral matters of mutual concern.
