Doha – Qatar
Qatar’s Public Works Authority (Ashghal) has launched the construction of the Qatar Sidra Academy in Education City. This is in partnership with Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development.
The academy is set to feature 60 classrooms, accommodating approximately 1,800 students. Spanning a total area of 74,000 square meters, the project includes a built-up space of 33,000 square meters. The main building, designed as a two-story structure, will house classrooms. Additional facilities include lecture halls, administrative offices, and reception areas for students and visitors.
According to Eng. Ahmed Al-Mahmeed, Head of the Public Projects Section, construction is already underway. Completion is expected by the second quarter of 2026. He highlighted that around 60% of the project materials—such as steel, iron, electrical and mechanical equipment, glass, and aluminum—will be sourced locally.
Al-Mahmeed also reaffirmed Ashghal’s commitment to adhering to top-tier local and international standards in health, safety, quality, and technology. This is to ensure a world-class educational facility.
