Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, met Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday in Minsk. This meeting, in fact, formed part of Sheikh Khaled’s visit to the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, where the UAE joined as a guest of honour. Throughout his trip, Sheikh Khaled consistently stressed the importance of the approach of dialogue in building stronger international ties.
Representing President Sheikh Mohamed, Sheikh Khaled attended the event in Belarus’ capital city. The council gathered leaders from Eurasian Economic Union countries, chaired by Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko. Consequently, the UAE’s presence showed its commitment to cooperation and regional growth.
Earlier on Friday, Sheikh Khaled also met President Lukashenko. Together, they witnessed the signing of a trade agreement that promises a new era of private-sector collaboration. The Services and Investment Agreement will therefore broaden opportunities for UAE companies in finance, consulting, education, and healthcare. This agreement clearly exemplifies the approach of dialogue as a way to strengthen business relations.
Sheikh Khaled traveled with key officials, including Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State Ahmed Al Sayegh, and Minister of Foreign Trade Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi. Moreover, other senior members included Saif Saeed Ghobash, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Mariam Al Mheiri, Chairwoman of the Abu Dhabi Media Office; and UAE Ambassador to Belarus Ibrahim Al Musharrakh. Their involvement further highlights the UAE’s serious commitment to expanding partnerships.
The visit and trade deal mark important steps in deepening UAE-Eurasian cooperation.
