Qatar’s Minister of Labour, Dr Ali bin Samikh Al Marri, led a session in Cairo on Sunday. The session focused on preparations for the upcoming Second World Summit on Social Development, set to take place in Doha from November 4 to 6, 2025.
During the session titled “Roadmap for the Second World Summit on Social Development”, Al Marri underscored the summit’s significance. It is a pivotal opportunity to renew the global community’s dedication to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
He stressed the importance of shaping a new global social contract that responds to today’s complex realities. These include geopolitical shifts, climate change, and the acceleration of digital transformation.
Al Marri also highlighted Qatar’s proactive role in fostering international collaboration. He noted that the country is working closely with the United Nations, civil society, and labour tripartite partners. The aim is to ensure the success of the 2025 summit and to promote inclusive social development worldwide.
