Ajman Police Honor Arab Woman for Preventing Potential Child Tragedy

Ajman Police have honored an Arab woman for her alertness and prompt action that helped prevent a potential tragedy involving a child climbing the edge of a high-rise balcony.

Brigadier Abdullah Saif Al Matrooshi, Director General of Police Operations at Ajman Police, commended the woman’s quick thinking and strong sense of responsibility. She noticed the two-year-old child climbing dangerously on the balcony edge of a nearby residential tower from her apartment window and immediately reported the incident to the police.

Colonel Ghaith Khalifa Al Kaabi, Director of the Comprehensive City Police Station, explained that the operations room received the woman’s report without delay. A patrol team was swiftly dispatched and found that the child had climbed onto the edge using a chair, while his parents were distracted and unaware of the danger.

The child was found unharmed, but police held the parents accountable for negligence, and legal action was taken in accordance with UAE child protection laws.

Colonel Al Kaabi urged all residents, especially those living in high-rise buildings, to implement strict home safety measures, such as securing windows and ensuring constant supervision of young children.

He also emphasized that parental negligence can lead to legal consequences under the UAE’s child rights legislation, warning that similar cases could result in serious harm or death if not prevented.

Ajman Police praised the woman’s intervention as a model of civic responsibility, reminding the public that timely reporting can save lives.
