The State Council and the Shura Council convened the second joint session of the eighth term of the Council of Oman, focusing on reconciling differences over several key draft laws.
During the session, members discussed and deliberated the articles under dispute in the following legislative proposals:
- The Anti-Human Trafficking Law
- The Telecommunications and Information Technology Regulation Law
- The Real Estate Regulation Law
- The Collection of State Dues Law
- The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Law
The joint session aimed to harmonize views between the two chambers and ensure legislative alignment on laws of national importance. These draft laws are seen as pivotal in enhancing legal protections, improving sector governance, and reinforcing Oman’s institutional framework in line with international standards.
The Council of Oman affirmed its commitment to advancing legislation that supports social justice, economic development, and digital transformation across the Sultanate.
The outcomes of the session will be submitted to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik for final review and royal assent.
