ila Bank and Mastercard Expand Their Partnership to Boost Digital Banking Innovation in Bahrain

ila Bank, a subsidiary of Bank ABC, is deepening its partnership with Mastercard. Together, they aim to advance digital banking innovation in Bahrain. This collaboration focuses on launching new banking products and enhancing loyalty programs for premium and travel customers.

The partnership introduces advanced digital solutions designed to suit evolving customer preferences. Mastercard will support ila Bank with cutting-edge payment technology. These tools will help improve customer experiences in travel, shopping, and dining. Additionally, they will boost privacy protection and fraud prevention measures.

Mohamed Al Maraj, CEO of ila Bank, emphasized the importance of customer-centric innovation. He explained that the bank constantly adapts to changing digital trends. “This partnership supports our mission to offer banking services that reflect our customers’ lifestyles,” he said.

According to Al Maraj, the renewed collaboration with Mastercard strengthens their leadership in digital banking. He also noted that their shared vision helps create seamless, secure, and rewarding banking experiences. Customers can expect new offerings that align with the digital economy’s rapid growth.

Meanwhile, Mastercard reaffirmed its commitment to supporting partners like ila Bank. Adam Jones, Mastercard’s Regional President for West Arabia, stated that digital banking innovation in Bahrain is a priority. He praised ila Bank for driving transformation in the financial sector.

Since 2019, ila Bank has focused exclusively on digital services through its mobile app. This fully digital approach includes a wide range of debit, credit, and prepaid cards. These cards offer exclusive benefits, including rewards tailored to individual user preferences.

In addition, the bank offers smart savings tools like Hassala and Jam’iya. The “Al Kanz” prize account gives customers chances to win cash throughout the year.

This renewed partnership builds on previous successes. Notably, it launched Bahrain’s co-branded Mastercard card with Gulf Air. It also introduced the “Pay with Points” loyalty feature and a multi-currency card program.

Together, ila Bank and Mastercard continue pushing forward digital banking innovation in Bahrain through technology, convenience, and strategic expansion.
