Sharjah-based master developer Arada has acquired the New South Wales division of Roberts Co., a leading Australian construction firm. This strategic acquisition supports Arada’s entry into the Australian property market, particularly its upcoming residential projects in Sydney.
With this move, Arada immediately injects Dh47 million into Roberts Co. (NSW), stabilizing the company’s financial position. As a result, 120 direct employees retain their roles, securing jobs amid an uncertain economic environment. Additionally, this transaction provides stability for another 600 workers associated with Sydney’s construction sector.
Arada initially announced its expansion into Australia in August 2024. The developer plans to build over 2,000 residential units in Sydney. This recent acquisition aligns seamlessly with these ambitions, enabling Arada to directly manage the construction phase of its developments.
The purchase of Roberts Co. (NSW) enhances Arada’s operational capabilities within the Australian market. Roberts Co. is renowned as a Tier-1 firm, having successfully delivered significant projects across multiple industries. Its strong reputation complements Arada’s objective of rapidly establishing itself within Australia’s competitive real estate market.
Arada is prepared to further invest up to Dh235 million to facilitate Roberts Co.’s expansion into additional sectors and new geographic areas. Through these strategic investments, the company targets substantial growth, aiming for annual revenues of Dh2.3 billion by 2028.
Sales and construction activities at Arada’s Australian projects are scheduled to commence by the end of 2025. This timeline underscores the developer’s commitment to quickly integrating Roberts Co. (NSW) into its operational framework.
Arada’s bold expansion into Australia exemplifies its ambition to become a globally recognized real estate brand. The acquisition of Roberts Co. (NSW) not only provides operational advantages but also positions Arada strongly within Sydney’s vibrant property market.
