Qatar-Hungary Agri-Tech Cooperation Boosted in New Trade Talks

Qatar Chamber hosted a delegation from Hungary’s Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) to discuss new ways of working together in agricultural technology. The meeting, held yesterday in Doha, was led by Anette Nagy, Manager of International Relations at HIPA.

From the Qatari side, Board Member Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli welcomed the Hungarian guests. He stressed the importance of building Qatar-Hungary agri-tech cooperation, especially in light of Qatar’s goals to boost food security and grow its economy beyond oil and gas.

During the meeting, both sides explored trade and investment opportunities in agriculture. Hungary shared its government’s support for foreign investors and highlighted incentives that make the country attractive for business. Meanwhile, six Hungarian companies with experience in smart farming joined the delegation, showing strong interest in working with Qatari firms.

Al Obaidli noted that Qatar has made big steps in recent years to develop local food production. This progress is part of the Qatar National Vision 2030. According to him, Hungary’s strong farming background could help Qatar reach its goals faster.

Moreover, he pointed out that working together through joint projects and knowledge sharing would benefit both countries. “Qatar Chamber is ready to support local companies looking for international partners,” he said.

In reply, Anette Nagy praised Qatar’s growing interest in agri-tech. She said Hungary is happy to work with Qatari partners and looks forward to long-term cooperation. In her view, there are many areas where both countries can succeed together, especially in high-tech farming and sustainable production.

In conclusion, this push for Qatar-Hungary agri-tech cooperation could open the door to a stronger, greener future for both nations.
