The Women’s Section at the Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center has launched a series of cultural and educational programs to promote Qatari heritage. These initiatives aim to help non-Arabic-speaking women connect with the country’s traditions and customs.
One of the highlights of the program is the “Qatari Conversations” (Sawalif Qatariyah), which welcomes English-speaking women eager to learn the Qatari dialect. This program enables participants to improve their communication skills while gaining a deeper understanding of Qatari culture, values, and social norms. The sessions are designed to be interactive, allowing women to engage with the local community and learn in an immersive environment.
In addition, the Women’s Section organized the “Morning Coffee” (Qahwat Al-Sabah) program, which focused on Qatari women’s lives. Thirty-one women attended the session, where they learned about the traditional roles of Qatari women, their contributions to society, and the evolving role of women in modern Qatar. Both programs are essential in supporting non-Arabic-speaking residents and helping them integrate into the local culture. These initiatives strengthen community ties and bridge cultural gaps.
The Women’s Section also celebrated the graduation of 227 new Muslim converts. These converts successfully completed courses as part of the New Muslim Education Program during the first quarter of 2025. The program helps new Muslims learn about Islamic beliefs and practices, ensuring a smooth transition into their spiritual journey.
Educational efforts at the Center continue regularly. In total, 87 converts attended in-person classes, while 98 participated remotely. This reflects the Center’s commitment to inclusivity and accessibility. By providing these programs, the Center plays a vital role in fostering cultural awareness and social integration within the community.
