The National Planning Council (NPC) officially launched the National Data and Statistics Strategy during a ceremony held on Sunday. The event took place under the patronage of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, who also serves as NPC President.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan bin Ali Al Thani, who is also the NPC Vice-President, presided over the launch. He emphasized the strategy’s role in strengthening Qatar’s digital ecosystem and modernizing its data infrastructure.

The National Data and Statistics Strategy provides a framework for improving data reliability, accessibility, and integration. It also focuses on establishing high standards through the National Statistics Center. Moreover, the strategy is designed to create a seamless national data ecosystem that supports innovation and decision-making.

To stay ahead in a digital world, the NPC plans to utilize artificial intelligence and big data across all levels of operation. This approach aims to place the National Statistics Center among the world’s top statistical institutions.

The launch coincides with the first anniversary of the NPC’s establishment. Over the past year, the Council has worked to align Qatar’s development priorities with data-driven insights. It has also formed partnerships with ministries, government bodies, and the private sector to ensure long-term strategic impact.

Through the National Data and Statistics Strategy, Qatar is building a future where information drives progress.
