AI Education in UAE Schools Approved from Kindergarten to Grade 12

The UAE has taken a landmark step toward preparing its youth for a future shaped by artificial intelligence. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced on Sunday that the Cabinet has approved the final curriculum for AI education in UAE schools.

Starting from the next academic year, all government schools across the UAE will introduce artificial intelligence as a core subject. The program will span every grade level, beginning in kindergarten and continuing through grade 12.

Sheikh Mohammed, who is Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, shared the announcement via social media. He said that the initiative supports the UAE’s long-term vision to equip students for a rapidly evolving world.

He praised the Ministry of Education for designing a comprehensive and forward-thinking curriculum. The curriculum covers technical foundations, ethical implications, data usage, algorithm design, and real-world applications of AI.

“Our goal is to give students a deep understanding of AI technology,” Sheikh Mohammed said. “We also want to raise awareness about how AI impacts society and human life.”

The initiative reflects the leadership’s ongoing efforts to align education with future economic and technological trends.

“Our responsibility is to prepare our children with the tools to thrive,” he said. “We must ensure they help drive our country’s progress.”

The decision to implement AI education in UAE schools underscores the nation’s growing commitment to digital transformation.

Experts believe this move will inspire other countries to follow suit. With AI education in UAE schools, the Emirates aims to build a generation ready to lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
