Qatar, Saudi Arabia Reaffirm Joint Commitment to Regional Prosperity at Coordination Council Meeting

Qatar and Saudi Arabia reiterated their shared determination to deepen cooperation and drive regional prosperity. They did this during the Executive Committee Meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council held in Doha on Tuesday.

Chaired by Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani. Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud also chaired the meeting. It highlighted the strong and strategic partnership between the two Gulf neighbours.

In his address, the Qatari Prime Minister described the meeting as a valuable platform. It reinforced the deep-rooted fraternal ties between Qatar and Saudi Arabia, especially amid the region’s ongoing political and economic challenges. He emphasized the importance of closer collaboration and open dialogue. This would enhance mutual understanding and address common concerns.

“Our coordination reflects a shared will to achieve the highest levels of integration across all sectors,” the Prime Minister stated. He added that dialogue between Doha and Riyadh is crucial for maintaining regional stability. It boosts security and promotes prosperity.

The meeting resulted in the adoption of five strategic objectives and seven new initiatives across various sectors. These include cooperation in sports, energy, trade, tourism, and culture, showcasing the expanding scope of bilateral engagement. The Prime Minister praised the success of previous committee meetings, particularly the outcomes of the second session held in Riyadh.

Highlighting achievements in joint efforts, the Prime Minister noted that both countries have made significant progress in political, security, and military cooperation. They also developed strategic partnerships in key economic sectors. Additionally, he lauded initiatives in tourism and cultural diplomacy. These have positioned both nations as global hubs for major events.

Concluding the session, both officials signed the minutes of the Executive Committee meeting. The Prime Minister affirmed that this gathering marks a new strategic milestone in Qatar-Saudi relations. He expressed optimism about the Council’s continued work toward deeper integration and a prosperous shared future.
