Latin America and Caribbean Cultural Festival Opens at Katara

The Latin America and Caribbean Cultural Festival officially opened yesterday at Katara Cultural Village. It offers a vibrant showcase of art, music, and cinema from across the region.

Running until April 30, the festival brings together wide participation from Latin American and Caribbean embassies accredited to Qatar. The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy General Manager of Katara Saif Saad Al Dosari.

The event began with an art exhibition at Building 47, featuring paintings that reflect the rich cultural heritage of the region. This screening gave visitors a glimpse into Latin American and Caribbean storytelling.

Throughout the festival, Katara will host a series of musical performances, concerts, and exhibitions at various venues. These venues include the Katara Drama Theatre and the Open Plaza at Building 47. Visitors can experience the diverse and colorful traditions of the participating nations through these engaging cultural displays.

Maryam Al Saad, CEO of the Katara Public Diplomacy Center, highlighted the significance of the festival. She described it as a unique opportunity for the people of Qatar to connect with cultures from distant lands. These cultures share deep human ties.
