Employers Survey 2025 to Bridge Education and Labour Market Gaps

The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation officially launched the Employers Survey 2025 on Sunday. This initiative aims to evaluate how well higher education outcomes match national labour market needs.

The Ministry’s Department of Statistics and Information is carrying out the Employers Survey 2025. Officials will collect data from institutions that hired graduates between 2018 and 2025. The survey covers the first half of this year, ending on June 30.

Dr. Rahma Ibrahim Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, highlighted the project’s importance during the launch. She stated that the Employers Survey 2025 plays a key role in shaping future educational policies. These policies aim to meet market demands and drive economic competitiveness.

She emphasized the project’s alignment with Oman Vision 2040. This national strategy focuses on connecting education with real-world employment opportunities. As a result, graduates can be better equipped with relevant skills.

The Employers Survey 2025 also seeks to pinpoint vital competencies needed across different economic sectors. By identifying these needs, the Ministry can recommend improvements in higher education programs.

During the launch event, attendees watched a detailed visual presentation. The presentation explained the goals, methods, and timeline of the Employers Survey 2025. It also underlined the importance of accurate data in forming education strategies.

Many experts see the survey as a crucial link between academia and industry. Better alignment can improve graduate employment rates and support national development.

In addition, the survey encourages collaboration between educational institutions and employers. These partnerships can help tailor academic programs to match sector-specific demands.

Looking forward, the Ministry will rely on the survey’s results to make informed decisions. Officials hope to use the data to enhance graduate readiness and boost national workforce quality.
