Bahrain Chamber Launches Digital Certification to Boost Global Trade

The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has introduced a fully electronic Certificate of Origin service. This initiative allows businesses to complete certification online, reducing paperwork and improving efficiency. Moreover, the system provides official accreditation at international ports, making trade processes smoother.

Chamber members can now issue invoices electronically, authenticate commercial documents, and verify company memberships. In addition, the new platform simplifies procedures and enhances business operations. As a result, digital trade in Bahrain continues to evolve with these advancements.

Sameer bin Abdullah Nass, Chairman of BCCI, highlighted the importance of digital transformation. He stated that this initiative aligns with the Kingdom’s vision for modernization. By leveraging advanced technology, the Chamber aims to support businesses and facilitate international trade. Consequently, companies can expect faster and more secure transactions.

The platform provides a secure and user-friendly experience. For instance, companies can access the service through the Chamber’s website or use the advanced electronic key (eKey 2.0). Furthermore, this transition to digital solutions ensures a seamless experience for businesses of all sizes.

Bahrain’s commitment to digital trade reflects its strategy for economic development. Authorities continue to invest in innovative solutions that strengthen the business environment. Therefore, by adopting this digital certification, companies can save time, reduce costs, and enhance global competitiveness.

Saleh Al Sharqi, Secretary-General of the Federation of Gulf Chambers, praised this initiative. He noted that digital trade in Bahrain sets an example for regional economies. Specifically, the move eliminates manual processes, accelerates customs procedures, and fosters stronger commercial partnerships.

Dr. Khaled Hanafi, Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chambers, also recognized the achievement. He emphasized that digital trade in Bahrain improves efficiency and aligns with global trends. Moreover, by embracing technology, the Chamber strengthens Bahrain’s position in international markets.
