Doha – His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has issued Amiri Decision No. 9 of 2025. This decision amends certain provisions of the previous decision that established the National Planning Council (NPC).
Under the new directive, the NPC will be chaired by the Prime Minister. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs will serve as Vice-President. The Council’s membership will include key ministers responsible for finance, environment, energy, labor, communications, cabinet affairs, municipalities, education, and commerce. Additionally, the Secretary-General of the NPC will be a member.
The decision also grants the NPC President the authority to appoint representatives from other relevant sectors to the Council. This restructuring aims to enhance national planning efforts, ensuring a more comprehensive and strategic approach to development.
The decision takes effect immediately and will be published in the Official Gazette.
