Baghdad’s Revival: Strengthening Services and Infrastructure

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has called on service institutions to intensify their efforts to improve Baghdad’s image. He emphasized that all efforts should come together to showcase the city in a way that reflects its rich history and cultural significance.During a meeting with a group of sanitation workers, Al-Sudani shared a meal with them during the holy month of Ramadan. He expressed his appreciation for their dedication, particularly in ensuring that the services provided to the capital are of the highest quality, especially amid the recent heavy rainfall.

The Prime Minister also acknowledged the extraordinary efforts of workers from the municipal services and sewage departments, who continue to work tirelessly to ensure the cleanliness and functionality of Baghdad’s streets and neighborhoods. Al-Sudani expressed his admiration for their commitment to providing essential services, which have become even more critical due to the recent downpour, which exceeded 72 millimeters in some areas. Moreover, Al-Sudani highlighted the significant infrastructure projects being implemented across the city for the first time in many years. These projects are designed to enhance the movement and flow of traffic and to beautify the capital. This initiative represents a significant step towards rebuilding and modernizing Baghdad’s infrastructure.Al-Sudani’s comments reflect a strong commitment to improving Baghdad’s status as a major Arab tourist destination. The prime minister stressed that all efforts must be coordinated to present Baghdad as a city worthy of its historical and cultural heritage. As Baghdad continues to grow, the focus on improving its infrastructure and services will likely play a crucial role in enhancing the city’s overall appearance and livability.
