Abu Dhabi Schools Set Strict Guidelines for Upcoming Exams

Abu Dhabi: With the second semester exams for the 2024-2025 academic year beginning on March 10, schools across the city are implementing strict guidelines to ensure a disciplined and fair examination process for students. Both public and private schools following the Ministry of Education’s curriculum are taking steps to create an organized environment for students during the exams, which will run until March 19.

To maintain order and prevent any misconduct, schools have introduced several essential rules and regulations. These include prohibitions on mobile phones, smart devices, and digital watches inside exam halls. Such measures aim to reduce cheating attempts and avoid distractions. Students are also prohibited from exchanging answers or giving signals during exams, ensuring that all evaluations are based on individual performance.

As part of the technological monitoring, schools are taking additional precautions in electronic testing environments. The installation of unapproved software on tablets used during exams is banned, especially social media apps or any programs that may circumvent security systems. These devices will be closely monitored throughout the exam period to maintain strict compliance with the guidelines.

Students must leave their bags outside the exam halls. Only essential items like pens and calculators, depending on the academic level, are permitted. Additionally, the tablets used during exams must not be tampered with, and there are specific restrictions on screen zooming to prevent any cheating. Teachers will also oversee the exam halls, where students are expected to avoid talking or borrowing materials from their peers. Surveillance cameras will be installed in classrooms to monitor for any suspicious behavior.

School administrations are emphasizing 10 key tasks to help students prepare thoroughly for the exams:

  1. Completing the Curriculum: Schools are ensuring that all necessary lessons are taught before the term ends.
  2. Providing Academic Support: Remedial classes will be held to assist struggling students.
  3. Reviewing Exam Structures: Training on question formats and assessments is ongoing to prepare students.
  4. Tracking Attendance: Regular school attendance is crucial, and parents can monitor their child’s attendance.
  5. Managing Absenteeism: Schools are communicating with parents of frequently absent students to address any concerns.
  6. Creating a Positive Learning Environment: Schools aim to foster an atmosphere conducive to concentration.
  7. Supporting Mental Health: Awareness and counseling sessions are available to help students cope with exam stress.
  8. Promoting Academic Integrity: Students are being reminded of the importance of ethics and avoiding cheating.
  9. Facilitating Communication: Teachers and parents are maintaining direct contact to provide support.
  10. Boosting Confidence: Workshops on time management and planning are helping students feel prepared.

These guidelines are designed to ensure students are well-prepared academically and mentally, and that they can focus on their exams without external distractions.
