MIPIM 2025: Oman’s Key Urban Development Projects

The Sultanate of Oman will take part in the prestigious World Urbanism Festival, MIPIM 2025, in Cannes, France. The event will span four days, starting Tuesday. This year, MIPIM focuses on “Shaping Sustainable Cities” and attracts over 20,000 participants from 90 countries. These include real estate developers, investors, architects, and urban planners. MIPIM 2025 provides a strategic platform for exchanging expertise and forming global partnerships.

Oman’s pavilion will showcase key urban development projects. These include Sultan Haitham City, Al Khuwair Downtown, Salalah Future City, Oman Mountain Front, and Thuraya City. These projects reflect the Sultanate’s vision of building sustainable, integrated urban environments.

Jamal Nasser Al Hadi, official spokesperson for the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, shared Oman’s goals for the event. “Through MIPIM 2025, Oman aims to highlight its competitive investment environment. We also want to promote urban projects offering substantial opportunities for international investors,” said Al Hadi. He also emphasized that Oman strives to be a regional hub in real estate development, focusing on smart and sustainable cities.

This participation aligns with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040. It focuses on expanding global partnerships, strengthening Oman’s position in the real estate market, and attracting quality investments.

At the festival, Oman’s representatives will host several discussion sessions. One session will be led by Dr. Khalfan bin Said Al Shuaili. The topic will be “The Impact of Long-Term Demographic Changes on Creating Liveable and Sustainable Cities.” The Oman Pavilion will also feature nine panel discussions, touching on future real estate and urban development trends.

Oman’s Sultan Haitham City project has made it to the final stage of the MIPIM 2025 Awards. This recognition places it among the top four global projects, competing for a prestigious honor. The awards celebrate innovation, environmental impact, and design excellence in urban development.
