Dubai Partnership Empowers Future Filmmakers with Hands-On Training

Dubai partnership empowers future filmmakers with hands-on training, creating new opportunities in the region’s film and creative industries. Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Dubai Campus (MAHE Dubai) and Cininfo have signed a major agreement to bridge the gap between academics and the entertainment sector.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Academic President Dr. S. Sudhindra from MAHE Dubai and Cininfo’s Co-Founder & CEO Dina Banerjee. Co-Founder & COO Raghav Gupta also played a key role in the collaboration. The event was attended by Prof. Elsa Ashish Thomas, Chairperson of the Manipal Institute of Liberal Arts (MILA), as well as award-winning Emirati filmmaker Maitha Alawadi and casting director Shivam Gupta. Their presence highlighted the significance of this initiative in shaping young filmmaking talent.

Dubai partnership empowers future filmmakers with hands-on training by offering industry-led projects, internships, and job placements. Students will benefit from masterclasses, guest lectures, workshops, and networking sessions led by experienced professionals. This collaboration ensures aspiring filmmakers gain practical knowledge and industry exposure.

As part of this initiative, Cininfo will launch the ‘UAE Filmmakers Hub’ at MAHE Dubai. This hub will serve as a platform for mentorship, industry insights, and specialized training. MAHE Dubai will act as an official venue for Cininfo’s key workshops and events, providing students with direct access to creative industry leaders.

Dina Banerjee and Raghav Gupta emphasized the importance of this collaboration. They expressed their excitement about working with MAHE Dubai to build a strong foundation for aspiring filmmakers. They believe this partnership will enhance the UAE’s creative ecosystem and provide new opportunities for talent development.

Dr. S. Sudhindra stated that this collaboration reinforces the university’s commitment to preparing students for real-world careers. He highlighted the importance of hands-on learning and industry exposure in film education. Prof. Elsa Ashish Thomas added that storytelling is a vital skill, and this initiative will help students become both skilled professionals and visionary artists.
