Bahrain Participates in Gulf Parliamentary Coordination Meeting

A delegation from Bahrain took part in the 20th virtual meeting of the Parliamentary Coordination and Foreign Relations Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The meeting focused on strategies to enhance parliamentary collaboration within the GCC and explored opportunities for engagement with the Andean Parliament and legislative bodies in the region.

Representing Bahrain in the discussions was Mr. Sadiq Eid Al Rahma, a member of the Shura Council, who reiterated the country’s commitment to strengthening parliamentary ties among GCC nations. He emphasized that increased cooperation would contribute to regional unity and serve the collective interests of Gulf citizens. During the session, he extended greetings on behalf of senior parliamentary leaders in Bahrain and expressed support for initiatives that foster greater legislative coordination.

The committee deliberated on a report from the General Secretariat detailing efforts to enhance legislative cooperation. Key topics included the exchange of expertise among legislative councils, organizing joint conferences, and facilitating visits between GCC parliamentary members. Mr. Al Rahma highlighted Bahrain’s dedication to advancing these objectives and announced that the country would propose initiatives aimed at further reinforcing Gulf parliamentary collaboration.

Additionally, discussions addressed an upcoming meeting between GCC legislative representatives and a delegation from the Andean Parliament. The gathering aims to bolster diplomatic and legislative ties between the Gulf region and Latin American nations, fostering new opportunities for dialogue and cooperation on various international issues.
