MoM and Hassad Launch Dates and Ramadan Supplies Expo Today

The Ministry of Municipality (MoM) and Hassad Food Company are launching a special exhibition today at the Umm Salal Central Market. This event, focused on “dates and Ramadan supplies,” will run from February 25 to March 1. It will offer a variety of essential products for the Holy Month.

The exhibition showcases a wide range of dates, featuring different types and varieties. Organizers aim to meet consumer demand ahead of Ramadan while promoting local agricultural products. Alongside dates, visitors will find Ramadan table supplies, perfumes, and other complementary items, creating a one-stop shopping experience.

Director of Agricultural Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality Yousef Khalid Al Khulaifi emphasized the importance of this event. He highlighted how “dates and Ramadan supplies” remain a key focus, ensuring consumers have access to fresh, high-quality products. He also noted that this initiative aligns with the ministry’s commitment to strengthening the agricultural sector.

This exhibition takes place as preparations for Ramadan accelerate. The event helps local farmers and producers connect directly with consumers, increasing the visibility of national products. It also supports Qatar’s ongoing efforts to enhance self-sufficiency in food production.

Mohammed Ghanem Al Kubaisi, General Manager of Aswaq for Food Facilities Management Company, stressed the significance of promoting local goods. He pointed out that dates play a major role in Qatar’s food heritage. This makes them a key feature of the exhibition. Aswaq worked throughout the Umm Salal Winter Festival to provide marketing platforms for farmers, ensuring local products receive strong support.

The Umm Salal Winter Festival has already hosted six specialized exhibitions this year. All of them focused on strengthening the market for local products. The “dates and Ramadan supplies” exhibition serves as the festival’s grand conclusion. It reinforces Qatar’s dedication to supporting its agricultural and food industries.
