MUSCAT: Asyad has opened the financial bids for the redevelopment of Port Sultan Qaboos in Muscat. The process attracted participation from six companies eager to contribute to the revitalization of the port’s cruise terminal.

The renovation project aims to enhance the port’s infrastructure and transform it into a key cruise destination. This will improve Oman’s position in the global cruise tourism market. The upgrade is essential for accommodating larger cruise ships and attracting more tourists to Muscat.

During the opening of the financial bids, representatives from Asyad and other stakeholders were present. They reviewed the offers submitted by the six companies. Each company presented their vision for the project, highlighting their expertise and proposed solutions. Asyad expressed its commitment to ensuring that the chosen company will meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

The port plays a significant role in Oman’s tourism infrastructure, and this project will further cement its importance as a hub for international travelers.

In addition to upgrading facilities, the project will also focus on sustainability. The new terminal will incorporate eco-friendly features and energy-efficient technologies. This approach aligns with Oman’s long-term goals of preserving its natural environment while fostering economic growth.

As the bidding process continues, Asyad will carefully assess each proposal to ensure the project’s success. The selected company will be tasked with executing the renovation within the established timeframe and budget.
