Saudi aid continues to reach vulnerable communities worldwide as the Kingdom highlights its expanding humanitarian and charitable efforts. Saudi Arabia marked the International Day of Charity by showcasing thousands of projects supporting communities across numerous countries. The Kingdom’s humanitarian, development and charitable initiatives now encompass 9,030 projects across 175 countries.
Together, these projects represent funding exceeding $145 billion and cover emergency relief, development and specialized humanitarian programs. According to reported United Nations figures, Saudi Arabia ranked second globally for humanitarian assistance during 2025. It also ranked first among Arab countries for providing humanitarian and relief support during the same period.
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has played a major role in coordinating these international efforts. Saudi Arabia established KSrelief in May 2015 following royal directives to strengthen the Kingdom’s global humanitarian response. Since its establishment, the center has completed 4,457 relief projects across 113 countries worldwide.
Those initiatives have received more than $8 billion in funding and addressed various humanitarian needs. Meanwhile, KSrelief has developed specialized programs supporting people facing complex medical and social challenges. One prominent initiative focuses on children born with conjoined twins and provides specialized medical care.
The Saudi Program for Conjoined Twins has assessed 158 cases involving children from different countries worldwide. Medical teams have successfully completed 72 separation procedures involving twins from 28 countries across five continents. In 2024, the United Nations officially recognized November 24 as World Conjoined Twins Day.
Saudi Arabia has also expanded international volunteering opportunities through its external volunteering platform for medical missions. More than 84,000 volunteers have participated in 1,446 medical and training missions across 59 countries. Together, these missions have benefited more than 2.85 million people and included approximately 273,350 surgical procedures.
In addition, the electronic donation platform Sahem has supported humanitarian fundraising through contributions from millions of donors. The platform has collected more than SR1.701 billion from over 9.82 million contributors. These donations have helped finance relief operations responding to emergencies and humanitarian needs in affected communities.
Meanwhile, KSrelief continues delivering assistance across countries experiencing conflict, displacement, food insecurity and other humanitarian challenges. In Yemen, recent operations included the distribution of thousands of food baskets across several governorates. The center provided 3,000 baskets in Shabwah, 1,440 in Al-Jawf and 1,160 in Abyan.
The agency also began the second phase of a project distributing 12,000 cartons of dates. The distribution targets several districts in Taiz, where vulnerable communities continue facing difficult humanitarian conditions. Additionally, aid trucks delivered 3,960 food baskets to Yemen’s Lahj Governorate during September.
In Gaza, humanitarian teams have continued providing food and drinking water to vulnerable residents. KSrelief’s central kitchen distributed 24,850 hot meals across central and southern areas on Wednesday. The operation followed another distribution that provided approximately 24,000 meals to vulnerable people one day earlier.
The center also pumped 500,000 liters of safe drinking water across several areas of Gaza. These emergency supplies aim to address essential needs among communities affected by continuing humanitarian hardship. The operations form part of wider relief efforts addressing food and water shortages.
Elsewhere, KSrelief has continued supporting displaced people, returnees and vulnerable families in Sudan and Syria. In Sudan’s North Kordofan State, the center distributed 1,050 food baskets to displaced people and returnees. The assistance benefited approximately 7,110 people facing difficult living conditions in the affected region.
In Syria, humanitarian teams provided 506 food baskets to vulnerable families in Rif Dimashq. These distributions form part of ongoing efforts to support communities affected by displacement and economic hardship. Furthermore, the programs demonstrate the broad geographic reach of the Kingdom’s humanitarian assistance.
Saudi aid remains closely connected to the Kingdom’s wider development and humanitarian priorities under Vision 2030. Through KSrelief and other initiatives, Saudi Arabia continues combining emergency assistance with medical and development support. The Kingdom’s latest figures highlight an international relief network operating across regions affected by significant humanitarian challenges.
The continued operations also demonstrate the scale of Saudi Arabia’s charitable engagement beyond its borders. From emergency food deliveries to specialized medical procedures, programs address immediate needs alongside longer-term humanitarian priorities. As international crises continue, the Kingdom is maintaining its focus on supporting vulnerable populations worldwide.
