The View Hospital Advances Medical Innovation with ‘Innovations in Robotic Surgery’ Symposium

Doha, Qatar – The View Hospital, in partnership with Cedars-Sinai, successfully hosted the second edition of its annual symposium, “Innovations in Robotic Surgery,” on February 21-22, 2025, at the Equestrian Club in Doha. Over 200 physicians from across the GCC attended. They engaged in discussions on the future of robotic-assisted surgery.

The event featured a distinguished lineup of international and regional medical experts. It highlighted Qatar’s emerging role as a leader in medical innovation. Attendees explored cutting-edge advancements in robotic surgery across multiple specialties. This included general surgery, urology, thoracic surgery, bariatrics, gastroenterology, and women’s health.

Dr. Fatih Mehmet Gul, CEO of The View Hospital, emphasized the significance of the event: “This symposium underscores our commitment to revolutionizing healthcare in Qatar and beyond. Robotic surgery enhances precision, efficiency, and patient safety. Furthermore, our collaboration with Cedars-Sinai strengthens our ability to drive medical innovation.”

Prominent speakers included Dr. Harry Sax from Cedars-Sinai, who praised the collaboration between institutions. He noted that knowledge-sharing accelerates advancements in robotic-assisted surgery. Additional experts from Cedars-Sinai and The View Hospital presented key topics. These ranged from pancreatic cancer detection to robotic gynecology and urological oncology.

The symposium also welcomed H.E. Timmy T. Davis, U.S. Ambassador to Qatar, who highlighted the importance of international collaboration in advancing medical technology. His remarks reinforced the growing ties between Qatar and the U.S. in healthcare innovation.

Attendees earned 12 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits, underscoring the event’s value as a premier educational platform for surgical professionals. The symposium further cemented Qatar’s role as a hub for cutting-edge medical research and technological advancements.
