Oman has been selected to represent Asia at the World Bank’s Africa Transport Policy Program meeting, which is scheduled to take place in Cairo, Egypt, in March 2027.
The selection marks an international recognition of the Sultanate’s efforts to strengthen road safety and improve traffic management. Oman will be represented at the meeting by the Royal Oman Police (ROP).
The annual gathering primarily brings together African countries to discuss transport policy, road safety, and infrastructure development. Organisers said the 2027 edition will also feature an official representative from the European Union, while Oman has been invited as the sole representative of Asia.
The participation reflects growing international recognition of Oman’s experience in road safety and its contribution to promoting safer transport systems.
